Support the VTSU Lyndon Hornets Men’s Basketball Team!
The VTSU Lyndon Hornets Men’s Basketball team is continuing its growth as a proud member of NCAA Division III and the North Atlantic Conference. This year, we welcome many new faces as we set our sights on returning to the NAC playoffs and contending for a conference championship. Most importantly, our players excel both on and off the court, consistently achieving in the classroom and serving as positive university representatives and contributors to the campus and local communities.
While we’re grateful for the university's support, we’ve also worked hard to raise additional funds to ensure our student-athletes have the best possible intercollegiate experience.
This season, we’re focused on raising funds to cover the costs of several key investments: a new shooting machine purchased last year, Synergy video breakdown and analysis for our players and staff, and travel gear. Though costly, these resources are essential to fully developing our players, providing them with the best opportunity for success, and ensuring they proudly represent our program and Vermont State University.
Any funds raised beyond these immediate expenses will be set aside for an exciting trip we’re planning for the 2024-25 season. In 2022, we had the unforgettable opportunity to travel to Florida for the prestigious Mauro Panaggio Tournament in Daytona Beach, where several players had the chance to compete in front of family and friends for the first time in their careers. We aim to offer a trip of this magnitude every three to four years so that every player in our program can experience something similar at least once. However, trips like this require significant financial planning; some costs are due well in advance. That’s why we hope to get a head start on fundraising this year after covering our immediate needs for the upcoming season.
To make all of this possible, we’re asking for your support. Our Friends of Hornet Basketball campaign is underway and runs through October 10. Please consider a gift to our program of any amount. Every donation directly benefits the Lyndon Men’s Basketball team and helps us provide the best possible experience for our student-athletes.
